The second day was much like the first day, so not really much to say there. We did get a tour of the met service, including their TV studio where the meteorologists actually did the weather report for the local news.
The hotel put on some event that evening, something involving outdoor dining and activities. We didn’t partake in any of them ourselves: they were geared more for those that were there on holiday. I only bring it up because it was then that I happened to handle some of the local currency. The Cook Islands use the New Zealand Dollar, but they did have local coins minted, including a 50 cent piece which was shaped like a triangle. It was quite and interesting coin to handle and I was foolish not to bring it home or take a photo of it at the time.
